• After I finished it just all felt like a dream for awhile.
• The first chance we got we just kinda threw ourselves off a little hill and practiced (using an ice axe). Which I thought was so helpful. It made me feel a lot more confident carrying the ice axe. Just knowing I knew how to use it and I had trust in it. That it actually worked to do its job of actually stopping you.
• I would have preferred to use the gear more before going out there. but I just didn’t have the time.
• I think the book (“Wild”) did inspire me to do more solo travel and just do things more alone.
• I think the trail just makes you grounded and more appreciative of all the small things in life that most people take for granted day to day.
