THRU HIKING WISDOMS

THRU HIKING

• The social part for me was the hardest part and has always been the hardest part of any trail.

• Every hour of every day was a new adventure and a new super, super intense challenge!

• You can really do some crazy shit if you want it and you’re smart about it.

• We always used to say that getting to Katahdin is a mentality versus an actual physical destination.

• There’s plenty of space on trail too.  To stay with people or get away from people.

• Being alone and making your own decisions and deciding what you’re going to do every single day and where you’re going to sleep and everything is up to you…its just the most empowering thing in the whole world!

• For some reason for me, the things that are the hardest are always the most beautiful.

• The trail is this crazy wild adventure, but it’s always like a direct reflection of whatever’s going on in your real life.

• For me, that became one of the most amazing parts… The physical challenge of doing something epic!

• There’s so many ways to do life.  Same thing as trail.  There’s so many ways to do trail and one is not better or worse.  It just depends on your personality and what your body likes.

• Keep questioning everything! Never be satisfied!
